It’s been a long, long time since this place last saw any attention from the E-Bikes guys, but there is light at the end of the tunnel. We are currently hard at work, planning and designing Version 2 of the E-Bikes website. While we are still in these early stages of planning we would love to hear from you guys with ideas and feedback for what you would like to see introduced or improved on the new website.

We are focussing our attention on improving the user experience of the site. Making it easier and more intuitive for you all to use. So if you think you have some ideas you could bring to the table that would make our site better to use then please contact us.

We are thrilled to announce that the new E-Bikes website will be going live on Friday the 27th of July at 1pm UK time.

To celebrate the launch of E-Bikes we are running a competition where you could have the chance of winning £30 worth of goodies courtesy of Saunders Extreme Sports. To enter our fantastic competition all you have to do with simply visit the E-Bikes website and set-up your E-Bikes account and you’ll be entered for the prize draw, which will be made on Tuesday the 31st of October 2006.

As mentioned before, due to E-Bikes being a brand new site we are going to offer free standard listing for the first 3 months to all our users. This means if you do not make a successful sale, you don’t have to pay a penny. A small commission will go to E-Bikes if you make a successful sale and as of the 31st of October 2006, a small fee will be introduced to list items on the site. Make sure you take advantage of this great offer while you can.

Have your bike featured here

E-Bikes are introducing a brand new feature to our blog where we will feature a number of photos submitted to us from our readers. At first this is going to be a monthly feature once we receive enough submissions from our readers and hopefully in time this can become a more regular feature, perhaps every week as the site grows. We aren’t looking for anything in particular, all we want is perhaps something that may be of interest to other readers. Maybe a bike that is a little bit unique, rare or just well kept.

So start sending photos of your bikes to photos [at] e-bikes.co.uk if you have a bike that your proud of and want featured and we will choose the best and post them right here for all to see.

We’re looking forward to seeing your bikes.

Where are we?

Over the past few months since we first released a press release about E-Bikes, we have had numerous emails from visitors asking when E-bikes will actually be going live. Well the good news is we are very close to going live and expect to be live and kicking by the end of the month (July) at the latest. We have had a great response from our initial press release with a great deal of interest shown in the site and our ideas so we have high expectations for the future.

As with all new sites we expect the first few weeks/month to be pretty quiet as we try to pick up pace and expand and get more people using the site. To help make up for this we decided to let our users list their items free for the first three months. This is for standard listing only, however. If your item sells or you choose additional features (users have the option to select additional features when creating their advert but there are aditional charges for many of these) there will be a small fee that you will have to pay. After the first three months there will be a small standard listing fee introduced to use our service as with all other sites.

We appreciate the fact that many of you may not want to advertise on what will first look an empty site, but hey, it’s free! As I said before, we have had a great response to our initial press release with a lot of people signing up to our notification service so we are hoping the site picks up pretty fast and becomes a great place for you guys to come and advertise your bikes as well as bid on others.

As for the blog, well we will keep you posted with all the developments regarding E-Bikes before and after the launch as well as posts and discussions regarding bikes in general. We look forward to posting more and getting to know some of our regular users in the future. Be sure to subscribe to our RSS feed to get updates when a new post has been added to the site. In the mean time, before the site launches make sure, if you aren’t already, to sign up to our mailing list to get notified when a date is set for the launch and the day the site goes live.

We hope you are all as excited about E-Bikes as we are. Thanks for coming by.
